The Amazing Burden of Irish Elk



Irish Elk, aka, Megaloceros giganteus stags shed and regrew their massive antlers each year, and the antlers frequently weighed more than the rest of their bones!

The most recent remains of the species have been carbon dated to about 7,700 years ago in Siberia.
