A Giant of a Man with a Giant Egg

Sir David Attenborough with the egg of an extinct Madagascan elephant bird that he collected on his first trip to that island in 1960.

Elephant birds were hunted to extinction by primitive man about 300 to 500 years ago.

While an ostrich egg holds the equivalent of 24 chicken eggs, an elephant bird egg holds the equivalent of 160!
