Moxie Bouncing Back After Snake Bite

I took this little clip of the two pups this afternoon, about 24 hours after I first discovered that Moxie (the little black and white dog) had gotten bitten in the face by a copperhead snake. As you can see, her face is still quite swollen, but she is active, happy, eating, and drinking. The Benadryl started to kick in within an hour or so, and though it's not curative (it takes a few days for the swelling to disappear) it helps a lot. Moxie is on a dose of amoxicillin too, as a precaution. That's all that's really needed with a copperhead bite.

Bottom line: she'll be fine. In the battle between the wee Dire Wolf and the Wee Dragon, the wolf is still standing.

  1. Love this! Mostly because she's on the mend, but also the allusion at the end. The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives!

    (Seriously, not trying to rhyme...)
