American Badger Burries a Cow

In the Utah desert, a very industrious American Badger finds, and buries, a 50-pound calf.

The badger excavated tunnels beneath the calf carcass over the course of five days, until the carcass collapsed into a pit. Then the badger covered the carcass completely, and constructed a burrow beside it so that it could feast on the beef, undisturbed, over the next 11 days.

No one has ever seen a badger bury a carcass this large before.
