Mother Nature's Forge

This is a 1405 French illustration
entitled The Personification of Nature Making Birds, Animals and People. We can see a man without genitals, a wood-fired forge and anvils, metal working tools, a peacock, another animal (a gryphon?) a deer, an enormous rat-like something or other, and a noble woman taking an axe or a hammer to a parrot or hawk.  The original work is in the The J. Paul Getty Museum.
