World War I Ratting in France

In France in 1915, near the village of Meaulte, the 7th Battalion, Royal West Kents, fought the the rats from the flour-mill near where they were billeted.

After killing off a number of them, the mill-owner produced a camera and placed his children and a ratting terrier in front of the soldiers and their kill.
