C & O Canal, 1925, Colorized

Source: Shorpy

This the C & O Canal in Georgetown, around 1925. The picture is westbound (looking upstream) and shows Key Bridge in the background, named after Francis Scott Key who lived in Georgetown just a few hundred yards from the bridge .

This picture was taken from the footbridge over the canal that now leads to the Dean & Deluca courtyard today. The footbridge in the foreground leads to 33rd street and the brick building on the right still exists today.
