The penguins of Cape Denison in Commonwealth Bay, Antarctica ("the windiest place on earth") were flourishing next to open water until a 2,900 sq km iceberg entered their bay in 2011. Since then, the colony has declined from 160,000 to just 10,000, and the penguins must now make 120 km round-trip journey in order to feed.
