Two Happy Friends


Darwin and Marley are both rescues. Darwin is a mostly-Jack Russell, owned by my mother, and hails from North Carolina via a "rescue train." Marley is a mostly-Italian Greyhound, owned by my wife, and hails from West Virginia via another "rescue train." Both are as fine a dog as has ever crossed the threshold of any house.

    Some street dogs in my neighborhood, left behind when their owner went to the joint, were rescued and vetted and sent to Canada via a "rescue train" earlier this year. They are Chihuahua Terrier mixes, and now living the good life, away from the mean streets of South Texas. Two of the cutest ones are with a woman in a nursing home in Ontario, as unofficial therapy dogs
