Loading the Squirrel Box

Caught a squirrel this morning, and loaded him up into the squirrel box for go-to-ground training.

As you can see, the solid back of the box rotates on a single corner screw, and it is fixed in place with another screw. The squirrel gets apples, water, and sunflower seeds for his troubles, and is always let go, unharmed, the same day he is caught.

Squirrels are much more animated than pet store rats, or even wild rats, and are also a type of sciuridae, so they smell more like groundhogs (the largest of the sciuridae).
