Smells Like Fraud

Dogs have extraordinary powers of smell as anyone who works scent hounds, working terriers, or tracking and cadaver dogs can tell you.

That said, these legendary powers of smell are as often used to scam as they are for good.

One does not have to look too far to find Search and Rescue dogs that are so poorly trained as to be a nuisance, if not an outright danger, in the field.

Police drug and bomb dogs are often very poorly trained, registering false positives at their owner's commands in order to justify otherwise illegal searches.
