The American Veterinary Medical Association's Smart Brief this morning has the following subject line: "Lyme Disease - Preparing for the Global Risk".
One guess as to who "sponsored" this email: Duramune Lyme, which is the maker of the "vaccine" for Lyme disease.
Here's what they do not tell you:
- Most of the country has a very low prevalence of Lyme disease.
- Most of the dogs that get Lyme are asymptomatic.
- Lyme disease is not easy to catch, and it's easy to treat.
- The Lyme vaccine is expensive, and only good for a year.
"Lyme disease vaccines and testing, as well as Lyme treatment of asymptomatic dogs, is a huge scam costing American dog owners hundreds of millions of dollars a year."
