Willie Dixon was a prolific blues composer and lyricist, as well as a bass and piano player and musical producer.
Willie Dixon wrote "Hoochie Coochie Man", "You Can't Judge a Book by the Cover", and "Little Red Rooster", among others.
Inducted posthumously into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, his songs have been covered by Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Cream, Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, and The Doors.
The Rolling Stones had a #1 in the U.K. with Little Red Rooster, which was written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Howlin' Wolf in 1961, and then by Sam Cooke in 1963.
