Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs played Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia. This was 1966. A lot of magnificent blue grass and country musicians (Patsy Cline, Lester, Earl, Kitty Wells, Jimmy Dean, Roy Clark, Johnny Paycheck) came to Arlington, Virginia to play, drawn by radio station WARL which was located in what is now the Whitman Walker Clinic on Lee Highway. The radio station tower is still behind the clinic and still in use.
