I used to go to Eastern Market when I was a kid. You could cash in bottles there for 5 cents apiece. At Chrismas, they would sell trees, and there would be a couple of guys outside roasting chestnuts on the caved in tops of 35-gallon drums, with a wood fire roaring underneath. I think the market is bigger now, and the area has gotten more prosperous after going through a 30-year down turn. All good. The wheel of life and economy turns, but some things seem to stay the same. We will always need meat and vegetables. There will always be holidays.
