Apocalypse Dog, 1953

This September 1953 cover is from Picture Parade #1.

Picture Parade was an educational comic to be given to school teachers to help students learn about newsworthy items -- sort of a picture version of Weekly Reader.

The inside of this publication is pure propaganda about how atomic energy will usher in a new period of hope and glory -- and never mind the bombs!

This publication was printed on high-acid paper and was a throw-away.  There are said to be less than 200 known copies still in existence today.

  1. Reminds me of "A Boy and His Dog." A strange and bizarre film, but it had some entertaining moments.
