Not only will ants probably survive an atomic blast, but the lowly cockroach will definitely survive as well. A cockroach can withstand many more millirems of radiation than a human can...thus the cockroach will still be around after an atomic blast while all humans are gone, with the exception of maybe Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones. :)
