Training Yourself

This is about "how to change a habit," but it's really about using operant conditioning on yourself

Here's a question:  If your dog was training you, what would he train you to do better?  How about your spouse?  Your employer?  Your kids?  Your friends?  What habits do you want to add or subtract?

  1. If your dog was training you, what would he train you to do better?

That's easy. He would train me to throw his ball better and more often:

First he would place the ball carefully by my feet. Then, he would crouch; take a couple of steps back and stare intently until you picked it up and threw it.

And, because that wasn't sufficiently challenging, he'd do the same to random strangers at the dog park. Baby's in push chairs and old ladies alike. Everyone needs to be trained. All border collies know that.
