A bow fisherman by the name of Brent Crawford shot this monster alligator gar in a lake near Corpus Christi, Texs. This animal weighed more than 300 pounds, which would have been a record had it been hauled in for an official weigh. More importanly, an alligator gar of this size is as rare as anything in America. Without a doubt this animal was at least 50 years old. Was shooting this amazing dinosaur of a fish worth the few crappy filets to be boned off of it? Thank you for this. I completely agree. I get a little tired of trophy hunters who have no regard for exactly what they're doing when they kill something this unusual.
