When I go into the field, I may be carrying 40 pounds of tools, water and the like over some pretty rough farm country.
How much easier and faster would things be if I had one of these?
This is a Dual Tracked Vehicle or DTV "Shredder" -- basically a Segway on tank treds -- and it's made by a Canadian company called BPG-Werks for the military.
As you can see in the video, the thing gets up to a decent speed (30 mph!), can be operated remotely, and can even pull a small trailer to serve as an ambulance (or deer-hauler). It's gasoline powered, so no extension cord needed. Military and civilian models will soon be available for about $5,000 a unit.
Imagine DNR officers on these things patrolling for poachers and looking for lost hikers.
Hey BPG-Werks -- I am ready, willing, and able to do demos of your product for anyone you want in the Washington D.C. area -- CIA, FBI, DoD, ICE, etc. Just drop one off on my doorstep!

That's wicked cool.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a solution in search of a problem -- and a pretty noisy patrol vehicle.
ReplyDelete"Look at the tread tracks, Joe. The warden's been through here."
