I am So Tired of Coughing...

I am so tired of coughing. I have been sick for 10 days now -- a chest cold that may now be bronchitis or pneumonia or something for all I know. I have doused myself with every over the counter thing I have in the cabinet, and I seem to be getting the stuff out of my lungs, but it seems to be never-ending and has left me exhausted with a raw throat and a headache.

There; I just wanted to say it. Now, maybe by saying the problem out loud, and writing it down too, it will go away.

Isn't incantation an ancient form of medicine? Sure it is -- and I am pretty sure it works as well against the common cold as anything modern medicine has to offer.

  1. Make a Dr.'s appointment. Never fails you'll feel better before you get there. For good measure, wash your car before it rains. Can't hurt, might help! ;)

    Feel better, Patrick.

  2. When I had bronchitis my doctor prescribed an electrical steam inhaler that I rented at the pharmacy. Of course, I'm in France, so I don't know if it would work for you. But yu might try inhaling the steam from a bowl of boilding water with a towel covering your head and the bowl - twice a day.

  3. Uh, yeah. Go see your doctor. I once ended up with pneumonia. Did the same thing you did. The OTC drugs ended up masking a more serious condition. I hate going to the doctor, but I felt so awful I finally broke down and went. You should go.

  4. And how are you today, Patrick? What you describe sounds a lot like what my sister suffered through last fall.

    Fluids, rest, and more rest.

    Do it - anyway.
