Republican Congressman Thadeus McCotter (11th District- Michigan) has introduced legislation to create a tax deduction for pet owners' pet expenses.According to Pet Products News, the proposed legislation will amend the IRS code to allow pet owners to deduct up to $3,500 in pet related expenses, including veterinary care.
Meanwhile, the Republican Party's proposal for health care for humans, only offers individual tax credits of $2,500 to help Americans purchase health insurance on their own.
For those with shaky math skills, that means the health of your pet is more valuable to some Republicans than your health is.
For the record, Congressman McCotter opposes national health care legislation.
He himself, however, has the best Government health care system your money can buy.
