Foxes are doing really well this year. Last year's vixens must have produced healthy litters.
This year, I see a lot more reds out in freshly mowed hayfields, eating small animals that got smashed by the mowing machines. I see red foxes, coyotes, the odd gray, lots of skunks, ravens, and crows all eating from the same resource. I even saw a mink several miles from a river doing exactly the same thing.
