Over at FactCheck.org, they simply summarized the night like this:
Sarah Palin’s much-awaited speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night may have shown she could play the role of attack dog, but it also showed her to be short on facts when it came to touting her own record and going after Obama’s.
We found Rudy Giuliani, who introduced her, to be as factually challenged as he sometimes was back when he was in the race. But Mike Huckabee may have laid the biggest egg of all.

ReplyDeleteGiuliani also said McCain had been a fighter pilot. Actually, McCain’s plane was the A-4 Skyhawk , a small bomber. It was the only plane he trained in or flew in combat, according to McCain’s own memoir.
The carrier-launched A-4 Skyhawk was classified as an "attack aircraft", sort of a hybrid of fighter and bomber(i.e. a fighter-bomber).

Product Description
The Skyhawk first entered service with the US Navy almost 50 years ago. (First flew 22 June 1954) It is still in service with various US units and remains the backbone of many of the air forces of those countries to which it has been exported. It was originally conceived as a carrier-borne fighter bomber, but as the aircraft has evolved it has taken on other roles. It is renowned for its strength and survivability in combat.

ReplyDeleteAnd of course, no politician has the right the change their mind on a topic, even if they decide they are on the wrong side. Thank god the people I will vote for stick to their beliefs even when the facts prove they should do a 180. Stick-to-it-ness is far more important....
Sorry, but I'll come back when you stick to working dogs again. I'm perfectly capable of making my own political decisions.
