150-Miles-Per-Gallon SUV?

This is a Saturn "Vue" SUV with off-the-shelf technology.
The promise of this vehicle is that it will save you a lot of money while helping to get us off of oil dependency.

This is not fantasy says the company making it; Detroit could be cranking these out today with off-the-shelf technology. Or, as Business Week put it, this is "The first economically viable, commercially-available hybrid auto technology." The AFS Trinity Power Corp. Extreme Hybrid system gets a 40-mile electric range before it switches to a 4-cylinder conventional engine, which is equal to the target set by General Motors for the Chevrolet Volt plug-in that it hopes to produce starting in 2010.
