Not Big in China, Andorra, Uganda, or Albania

I put a counter on this blog two months ago (on the far right, in the margin, scroll down a ways).

So far, the counter is up to over 57,000 visitors from 139 countries. That's not much by most political blog standards, but probably OK for a blog site as narrow and bizarre as this one is, and for a period of only two months.

That said, I am not feeling the love from a number of places. To be specific, I have had only one visitor from the following countries:

  • Afghanistan
  • Nepal
  • Uganda
  • Madagascar
  • Bolivia
  • Albania
  • Netherlands Antilles
  • Marshall Islands
  • Zimbabwe (where I was born)
  • El Salvador
  • Azerbaijan
  • Federated States of Micronesia
  • Suriname
  • Senegal
  • Cayman Islands
  • Dominican Republic
  • Lesotho
  • Northern Mariana Islands
  • Namibia
  • Andorra
  • Grenada
Now I know the people in these countries are going to whine the way they always do: "We don't speak English," and "We don't have electricity," and the always-favorite "But your web site doesn't have any terrier recipies that include plantains, aromatic rice or cassava root."

Right.

Here's the deal. I promised I will do more with terrier recipies if some of you unwashed foreigners from God-forsaken lands will only plug in your computers (when the electrical grid is up, of course), learn English and visit this blog. Come on people: Help me to help you.

Meanwhile, a special shout out to the folks in Algeria and Tunisia (I used to live in both countries) who have moved their numbers up out of the basement and up to ... two.

God bless you. It is countries like yours that make this world a great place to live. Shukran. تكرم عينك

P.S. For those who are a bit ADD, there is a main web site too -- http://www.terrierman.com that is packed full of good (and sometimes useful) stuff on field care for working terriers, history of working terriers, tools, humor, book reviews, and YES even a bit on cooking rats for human consumption.

And YES, both sites are still Banned in China -- a sign of something (still not sure of what) since 2006.

    My grandma's recipe for terrier:

    1 plantain, peeled
    1 onion, chopped
    2 shallots, chopped
    1 tsp salt
    1 terrier, de-haired

    Boil in pot until done.

    ---

    See if that doesn't help.

    Keep up the good work!

are terriers tasty? Seems to me they'd be a little tough.
