At the End of a Short Day
Sailor and Mountain at the end of a short day. Sailor worked the first one, and Mountain the second, but I dug both and was a bit knackered by the heat after only two short digs. It was only 80 degrees out in the shade, but of course we were not in the shade. My only excuse is that the soil is very hard right now due to lack of rain, and the second dig was very rocky.
We were off the farm by 1:30, so it was a nice quick bit of business for all of us.
Gas is up to $3.15 so that's an additional expense. Before winter hits I have to get a new vehicle with four-wheel drive, but if gas keeps going up they may be givimg them away free with a full tank and an oil change.
Mountain is repaired from the barbed wire rip under her back leg from a few weeks back. She got a long but shallow ear rip on this outing, but that should heal up by next week and she is not bothered by it.
