Said animal also has a GPS tracker permanently attached to its collar because recall to its owner is frankly lacking, and the damn fool animal cannot be relied upon to return to a whistle.<br /><br />This last time the dog had been used (unsuccessfully, I believe) as a stud animal and was spending part of its time importuning any other passing dog, regardless of sex, and receiving numerous aggressive brush-offs in the process. Neither this nor its owner reprimanding it each time had the slightest impression on the beast; it really is that stupid.<br /><br />Dandie Dinmont terriers badly need an influx of new genes, to the extent perhaps of almost smothering the existing gene-pool. What is there currently is a shrinking gene-pool that gives excessively stupid and generally pretty useless animals. My impression is they a...I've met two Dandies.<br /><br />My impression is they aren't actually terriers. They are more like a variety of basset, like Petit basset griffon Vendeen or the Fawny Brittany Basset.<br /><br />Dachshunds are more terrier than these dogs are.<br /><br />Maybe if they used the Dandie as a pack hound, it might survive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
