Vets and Drug companies In Cahoots?

You want my what?
Of the nearly $56 billion that consumers spent on pets in 2013, $7.6 billion was spent on prescription and over-the-counter medications for dogs and cats.

A new report from the Federal Trade Commission (PDF) concludes that pet owners would be better served if 1) veterinarians were required to provide written prescriptions for prescribed drugs and 2) if exclusive veterinary drug channels were opened up to larger markets.

Of course, veterinarians and drug manufacturers, which have long colluded and conspired to rip off consumers, are not happy about this report!

Their problem?
They object to the naked subtext of the report, which is that veterinarians and drug companies have been in cahoots to rip off their customers!

Ha!

Well yes, they would.  The cheek!  The insult!

And yes, the REALITY.
