Walking the Dogs

I walked the dogs this evening, making my usual rounds around a local "ring fort" left over from the Civil War, and stopping at hollow trees, as I do now in order to let the pups explore.

This tree is reasonably large, and hollow enough for both pups to disappear inside. I found it a week or so ago, andthought it was about the right size for quick dash-away hideout for raccoon or fox,

Apparently, I was not alone, as tonight I spied a round flash of white in the leaf litter which drew me to the battered skull, below.

That's a red fox. A nice small find, and a reminder that the dogs, the wildlife, and myself are all on the same page.
