Straight Out of Siberia

Both Niagara Falls and the Hudson and Potomac Rivers have officially frozen over.

It's hard to believe that just two months from now, the shad will be coming up river to spawn.

The temperatures today and tomorrow are supposed to set an all-time February low from Tennessee to Virginia, courtesy of a Siberian air stream that has shot straight down from the North Pole over the past week.  



All the dogs are inside except for very quick "dash and dumps".

I had two Alaskan Huskies (Malamute/Siberian cross) father-daughter who never slept one day indoors and we lived in Upstate New York in the 1970's. The days of the Great Freeze of '76/'77. They just curled up in the snow...
