When someone begins a statement with "I'm not a racist," you can bet the farm that this person is one!

When you type this line into Google "I'm not a racist ..." it prompts you with this line: "I'm not a racist. Racism is a crime, and crime is for black people."

So yeah, pretty much you have it right.

Everyone is racist in one way or another and to varying degrees. We're human, we can't help it. Americans just tend to be more self-conscious about racism than others.
