Turn off the Damn Computer and Go Outside!

Adult Americans spend an average of more than eight hours a day in front of screens -- televisions, computer monitors, cellphones or other devices, according to a new study.

People aged 45 to 54 averaged the most daily screen time at just over nine-and-a-half hours. The study did not include anyone under the age of 18.

Hopefully because most of the under-18s are in SCHOOL all day where they belong.

That's an interesting find though, considering that a lot of people my age (let's say the 20-30 age bracket) are so into those online RP games that they pretty much do nothing else. Or so it seems, I guess.

30 mph wind gusts out there, bud -- I'm staying in!

Even Pepper is rolling over on her back anytime I tell her we're going for a walk.

Tomorrow is going to be 60 degrees and sunny -- I'll be planting my fava beans and a 2nd round of peas

I think the Chesapeake Bay Foundation started a program "leave no child inside". It is getting national support by many conservation and educational organizations. It has great potential to bring the kids outdoors, but a lot depends upon the parents going with them too.
People who want to inhabit cavernous homes are fine with me, just as long as they don't put these monstrosities on open space deriving kids of the outdoors and natural world.
