Golden Eagles Hunting Chamois or Goat

In Spanish, and a bit long, but some jaw-dropping photography here. A warning that this video does show nature "red in tooth and claw." Or red in beak and claw, if you prefer.

It is? Well that explains the landscape, a bit better, but I had no idea they had mouflon in Argentina. Are they an import? As you can tell, my Spanish abilities is banging right next to zero.

Not sure where it was filmed, but it was posted to Youtube by someone in Spain, and the person doing the narration is Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente who died in 1980 in an airplane accident in Alaska. More on him here >> http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0735617/bio Faboulous shot and a great voice too. Wish I spoke Spanish!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but Darren Naish's opinion on this matter counts for zero with me. A smart fellow he is, but his knowledge of real breathing wildlife in nature is ... well, the word *thin* would come to mind, but might actually overstate his expertise. This is a man who thinks that Britain is patrolled by black leopards but that this is a CGI animation or done with wires? LOL. Priceless!

Was this shot with trained Golden Eagles? Almost assuredly. Was any part of the rest of it fake? Nope.

You see, they did not do credible CGI animation in the late 1970s. Or wire work either. Nothing shown is impossible.

And this IS Felix Rodriguez de la Fuente who died in 1980, and a man so good with large raptors that he was given an open bank account by the Saudis, which is how this and other films came to be produced. To see what this Natioal treasure of Spain put on film, see >> Please don't take this the wrong way, but Darren Naish's opinion on this matter counts for zero with me. I could be wrong about the Spain thing. I was going based on the accent of the Spanish and landscape. my Spanish is not too good but i can tell different accents.

it's a great video, even a bit eerie to watch Eagles hunt like that. I've always said animals are much smarter than we think.

It is a golden eagle and the animal a Chamois therefore it must be in the Pyrenees, Alps or Caucasus etc.
Unlikely to be trained since there is a shot of it returning to the nest.
